Chaos Ring Backstory

Chaos Ring Backstory

My Dearest Brother Logan,

It has been an age since we last saw one another. I scarce know where to begin. Life here at the Melodris Arcanium has been most enjoyable. Every day is a new adventure and I am learning new ways to weave lyrical magic in all of my classes. The teachers here are wise, talented, and well-learned. I am even studying under the great Pendrus Wishbourne. The library here is a bookworm’s dream. And the plays performed by the theatrical department are a delight! I do hope to show them to you one day. I am so grateful for our family’s support of my studies and I hope to make you all proud.

However, I am a little concerned that communication between us has become lax as of late. Our neighbor, Count Rogan, surprised me with a visit the other day and as part of our conversation he casually mentioned in passing that you had recently been married. Imagine my surprise, my dear brother, to hear of your union when I wasn’t even aware of your engagement. I suspect that the giddiness of your newfound relationship must have pushed any thoughts of your poor absent sister away and that my invitation to your wedding was mistakenly forgotten. So, for what it is worth, please accept my belated congratulations to you and your bride for your unexpected matrimony.

Count Rogan was also kind enough to inform me that your blushing bride was none other than Lady Wilscher. I am afraid that my memories of her are none too kind and I do hope she has outgrown some of those conniving and greedy habits that she exhibited in our youth. I would hate to believe that it was our family’s wealth rather than your charming personality that enamored her. I pray too that my lack of an invitation to the wedding was just a simple oversight and not a calculated decision born from an unnecessary fear that I would somehow dissuade you from your marriage. I wish you both only the best. As proof of my good will, I have enclosed with this letter my wedding gift for Lady Wilscher. It is a ring that I made myself in my enchantment class. I hope she finds it as charming as I do.

Your Loving Sister,

Kellian
